Mosaic for restaurants and hotels – the detail guests remember and photograph

In hospitality, decoration has one job: to make a place memorable enough to be recommended. Mosaic does that better than most finishes, because it is rare, it reads as expensive and it photographs well. We make lobby and entrance floors, rosettes and logos set into the floor, walls behind bars and reception desks, spa and pool decoration, and panels in dining rooms.

A floor that takes the traffic

The floor inside a hotel or restaurant entrance takes hundreds of pairs of shoes a day, along with grit, salt and water. Mosaic in marble and natural stone, laid in opus tessellatum, stands up to it – it does not wear through like lacquer, does not lift like vinyl and does not crack like a large-format slab. A rosette or a logo set into the entrance floor is the most common commission in this category.

The wall behind the bar and the desk

This is the surface guests look at longest – and photograph most. Mosaic in glass and gold tesserae lives under spot lighting and looks different in the morning and in the evening. Geometric motifs, classical ornament and abstract compositions all work well; a venue logo can be woven into the composition instead of hung separately.

Spa, pool, bathrooms

In wet areas mosaic has no real competition: glass and stone do not absorb water, do not grow mould and do not lose colour to chlorine. We line pools, walls in saunas and steam rooms, spa floors and bathrooms in hotel rooms. For pools we use frost-resistant glass, including for outdoor installations.

How we work on a project

We work with the interior architect, the main contractor or directly with the investor. We can take a finished design and execute it in mosaic, or develop the composition from scratch. The mosaic is laid on mesh in our workshop in segments and arrives finished, so installation on site is short – which matters when a venue has an opening date. We send photographs of the work in progress at every stage.

Price and estimate

A mosaic costs from 4,000 to 15,000 PLN per m². The price depends on the complexity of the drawing, the number of shades and the materials: geometric ornament in marble sits at the lower end, a figurative composition with gold at the upper. For larger projects we itemise the estimate so it drops straight into the investment budget. The estimate is free.

Frequently asked questions

Will a mosaic take heavy traffic in a lobby?

Yes, if we make it in marble and natural stone. It is the same material that survived two thousand years in Roman floors. At entrances we design the pattern so that dirt and grit show less.

How much does a mosaic for a venue cost?

A mosaic costs from 4,000 to 15,000 PLN per m². A rosette 150 cm across at an entrance is about 1.8 m². We prepare an exact estimate free of charge once we have a drawing, or the dimensions and photos of the place.

Can you work our logo into the mosaic?

Yes. We set logos into the entrance floor, into the wall behind reception, or as a separate panel. Brand colours are matched in glass and we show you a material sample before work begins.

How long does an installation take?

The mosaic is laid in segments in the workshop, so installation on site is short – usually a few days. The whole process, from approval of the design to installation, is most often 6–12 weeks depending on area. We set the schedule around your opening date.

Do you work to an architect’s design?

Yes. We take a finished design and execute it in mosaic, advising on the choice of material. We can also develop the composition from scratch. We work with design practices on a regular basis.

Is mosaic suitable for a pool area?

Yes. Glass and stone do not absorb water, do not grow mould and do not react to chlorine. For pool shells and outdoor areas we use frost-resistant glass together with mortars and grouts rated for permanent contact with water.
